WesBank has teamed up with MG Motor South Africa to launch MG Finance, a collaboration designed to simplify car purchases and broaden affordable mobility options for consumers. The alliance integrates tailored financing solutions directly into MG dealerships, allowing buyers to secure loans and drive away in new or used vehicles under one roof.
The deal also introduces floorplan financing — a system enabling MG dealers to manage inventory more efficiently — to ensure showrooms stay stocked with the latest models. Ghana Msibi, WesBank’s CEO, highlighted the timing of the partnership: “The influx of competitively priced automotive brands has injected fresh energy into South Africa’s passenger vehicle market. Aligning with MG Motor allows us to support this momentum while delivering more choice to buyers.”

Ian Nicholls, Senior Advisor at MG Motor South Africa, described the move as a “pivotal step” for the brand. “MG Finance isn’t just about loans; it’s about creating a smoother, more flexible journey for customers and reinforcing our dealer network,” he said. The initiative aims to pair MG’s expanding vehicle range with financing packages tailored to diverse budgets, including options for hybrid and electric models.
Since its South African debut in January 2025, MG has rolled out the ZS and HS SUVs alongside the electric Cyberster roadster. The brand is now eyeing growth in the compact B-segment, with plans to introduce petrol, hybrid, and an affordable electric variant in the coming years.
To mark the partnership, MG Motor South Africa is running a promotion until the end of April 2025, offering customers who finance through MG Finance a chance to slash R200,000 off their vehicle deal. The campaign underscores the brand’s push to attract buyers navigating tighter budgets in a competitive market.
With this alliance, WesBank and MG Motor signal a shared focus on adaptive financing and sustainable mobility—a combination likely to resonate in South Africa’s evolving automotive landscape.
