I’ve never been one to rave about any car dealership or buying experience…I’ve purchased over 10 vehicles from various dealers and the experience has either been horrendous or just average at best. Step in Halfway Toyota Fourways and a Salesman by the name of Judge. He converted me…what an absolute breath of fresh air. No pressure, no fuss, just an easy, pleasant and somewhat unheard of buying experience. They have earned a customer for life and a good friend has also just purchased a vehicle there from Judge. Only had the very best things to say, which just reaffirmed my experience. Such a pity there aren’t more dealers out there with the same level of service and professionalism. A true 5 star experience!

In May 2024 I bought a new VW Polo Sedan TSi Life Tiptronic from Alan Hudson Motors (Now Westvaal Volkswagen Mbombela). From day one we experienced gearbox problems with aggressive creep, hard shifting, slow response and gear hunting. The dealership could not rectify the matter to our satisfaction and VWSA declared that they are not entertaining the matter anymore and will honor breakdown repairs through VW alert. Early 2026 we decided rather to sell the Polo and WBC did a valuation on the Polo and came in with a low offer as this vehicle have only 2 air bags. Back in 2024 when I bought the Polo the VWSA website indicated that the Life model is fitted with 6 air bags. With this latent false representation I contacted VWSA where the matter was elevated to the MD Martine of VWSA where I requested a full refund based on false representation of goods. VWSA declined my request stating that their catalogue information can be changed due to a disclaimer. The contents of the VWSA catalogue was changed after I submitted my request for a refund. Section 51 of the CPA (Prohibited Transactions): The CPA explicitly states that suppliers cannot include terms in an agreement that waive, defeat, or set aside a consumer’s statutory rights. A disclaimer cannot legalize a misrepresentation. A supplier is strictly prohibited from falsely representing that goods have ingredients, performance characteristics, accessories, uses, or benefits that they do not have. Airbags are vital safety components. Misrepresenting 6 airbags when there are only 2 directly violates Section 41. The Polo remains stationary most of the time due to latent increased risk to the driver and passengers. My case is currently at MIOSA for investigation and judgement. It is not a good position to be in to pay a lot of money per month on a car and it is not safe to use. I have been an ambassador for VW since 1982 when I bought my first VW and have owned many models according to our family needs just to have the worse experience when I buy my last VW for retirement. In my opinion the tradition of VW to be the South African people's car is long gone. I hope the new MD makes the big change.

Hi Michael and Grant, I hope your well. It’s Rami, I emailed you 2 weeks ago with regards to the Kia Tasman. Michael, I have no words to explain all you did. The Kia Weltevreden team, yourself Michael and Grant. I have great news. Grant, you worked your magic and things moved quickly. Got a discount of R23k and got prime rate (didn’t even want to use my staff rate at the bank). The service from the beginning of viewing to purchase has been phenomenal. Noma and Suprise went above and beyond to make the customer journey exceptional. They had an event when I went to see the car yet took the time to listen to my needs of the car and the best deal. Also, during the women’s month event, I got a test drive, and they never dropped the standard of customer and brand reputation. I also trade in my car with Toyota Corolla hatch 1.2CVT XR, Kia Weltevreden took it in and gave me a higher evaluation than WeBuyCars and Cubbi at 275k. They asked me how much I’d like and post that they made sure the process was simple and CONSISTENTLY COMMUNICATED on the updates. And handled everything for me. That's impeccable customer service. Nomasonto, my sales lady was absolutely amazing, kindness. Surprise, thank you for ensuring the best deal from trade in and new financing of my Tasman (I’ve clocked 1500km cause the car is simply amazing) Michael my good sir. Once again thank you, thank you for everything and as well yourself Grant. I’d like so to share the value of customer that was far and above the best I’ve experienced on my LinkedIn profile. Thank you

Greetings I am writing to request your assistance and advice regarding my 2026 Volkswagen Polo TSI Wolfsburg Edition, which has been experiencing an ongoing factory-related fault shortly after I took delivery of the vehicle. The vehicle has been with Volkswagen for an extended period due to a fluctuating coolant temperature issue. The thermostat was initially replaced, but the problem persisted. Following further investigation and testing, I was advised that Volkswagen South Africa had recommended the replacement of the cylinder head. The necessary parts were subsequently ordered under warranty.
While I appreciate that the dealership and Volkswagen are attempting to resolve the issue, I am becoming increasingly uncomfortable with the situation. This is a brand-new vehicle that I have only had for a short period, yet it has spent a significant amount of time at the dealership rather than in my possession. I have also continued making my monthly finance payments despite not having the vehicle available to me.
Given the circumstances, I would like to explore the possibility of changing the vehicle rather than proceeding with the cylinder-head replacement. My concern is that, even if the repair is completed successfully, I may no longer have confidence in the vehicle given the extent of the fault and the amount of time it has already spent off the road. I would therefore appreciate your advice on the best way to handle this matter and whether you would be able to assist me with exchanging the current Polo TSI Wolfsburg Edition for another suitable Volkswagen vehicle. If a vehicle change is possible, I would appreciate guidance on how the existing finance agreement, outstanding balance and trade-in/exchange value would be handled, as well as what options may be available to me. I am not looking to create unnecessary conflict; I simply want to find a fair and practical solution that allows me to have a reliable vehicle while resolving the difficulties caused by the current one. Please could you advise me on the options available and whether you are able to assist me directly with arranging a vehicle change? I would appreciate an urgent response, as this matter has been ongoing for some time and is causing significant inconvenience.

Hi Team, I am looking for some advise. We bought a Renaut Kiger new from the Motus garage in Northcliff approximately 2 years ago. The vehicle has has all the services through the dealership and has now done approximately 70,000 km. Two weeks ago an engine light suddenly appeared on the dashboard. We immediately booked the car in to Renault Northcliff and the following day we had to phone late in the afternoon to find out if the car was ready of not. We were advised that it is a sensor for the brake lights that needs to be replaced, however they do not have stock and it would take approximately 7 days for the part. After nine days we phoned once again to find out the progress. We were advised that the part is on back order and there is no time framr, it could take 2 months it could take 6 months. We were then promised a courtesy car by yesterday (we have to pay a R2,000 deposit). However nobody has even bothered to contact us again regarding the courtesy car or the progress. This is apparently typical of Renault and Motus service and were wondering if you could assist with some advice as to how we should approach the situation.

I would like to give a big thank you to 2 dealers currently on change cars. GWM N1 City and Haval Milnerton. Even though i eventually purchased a new Jolion from GMW N1 city i would still like to point out the exceptional service at Haval Milnerton. But to the salesman (Sebastian) from GWM N1 i would recommend to anyone looking to purchase from GWM N1. I took ownership of the new car a week ago now and he has reached out again to make sure everything is as expected. I dnt think i will purchase any car in future if the dealer is not listed on changecars.

Good Evening, I hope that everyone is doing well. I would like to take this moment to express my greatest gratitude to Change Cars - Michael, Muhammed and Cliff for doing everything in their ability to ensure that my matter gets resolved as swiftly as possible; with prestige service. To Michael and Muhammed, I can never thank you enough. I know this hasn't been easy for all of us, emotions were high at some point but we all managed to still try and maintain calm and focus on resolving the matter. Muhammed, I am sorry that for all the stress you had to go through since day one. I hope it's a lesson the team will learn and never had to put anyone in my situation, and perhaps the financial burden for the dealership. To Michael and Change Cars team, may the good Lord keep you healthy and shower you with many many more life. You are truly a voice for the voiceless, eyes for the blind and strength for the weak. What you and View for you offer is salvation for the South Car market. I wish that more and more people can utilize your services. Thank you, thank you.

Dear Michael
I appreciate your support in getting good-quality service from a reputable company after a few failed attempts. Once I included you, I received immediate support and feedback from Toyota South Africa. I am not 100% satisfied with the service I received at the dealer, and that has definitely left a tainted image of this dealership. It is the closest dealership to my residence, and I wouldn't like to switch to another dealership, but I will consider it.
Once again, thank you! I've been following ChangeCars on Facebook and will definitely go and subscribe to the YouTube channel.

I purchased a 2024 VW Polo 1.0 TSI DSG at Hyundai Lenasia in October 2025.
When I bought the vehicle, I was informed that the spare key was at the head office and would be provided to me afterwards. I therefore had no reason to believe that getting the spare key would become such a long and frustrating process.
Since then, I have repeatedly followed up with the salesperson regarding the key. I was eventually informed that the original spare key could not be found and that a new one would need to be ordered.
The problem is that I still have no spare key and no clear timeline for when I will receive one.
I have tried several channels to get this resolved. I followed up with the salesperson, emailed the Used Car Manager and the Dealership Principal, and also contacted Hyundai South Africa for assistance. Hyundai SA advised me that, because the vehicle I purchased is a Volkswagen and not a Hyundai vehicle, the matter needs to be handled by the dealership. They advised that the only assistance they could provide was to escalate the matter to the Dealership Principal.
The situation became even more frustrating recently when I accidentally locked my key inside the car and had to pay a locksmith to assist me. This was an unnecessary expense that could have been avoided had I received the spare key as promised.
I have been patient and have given the dealership more than enough opportunity to resolve this, but I am now at the point where I need outside assistance.
I am hoping Change Cars can please step in, escalate my complaint to the relevant people and help me finally get the spare key that was promised to me when I purchased the vehicle.
I would really appreciate any assistance in getting this matter resolved.
Regards,
Rebecca

A huge shoutout and heartfelt thank you to Michael Pashut and the team at CHANGECARS
About a month and a half ago, my 2024 Peugeot Landtrek stalled out of nowhere. What followed was six long weeks of frustration—my bakkie sitting at the dealership with no end in sight, compounded by constant communication breakdowns between the workshop and the manufacturer. I was completely exhausted by the runaround and had honestly reached a point where I gave up hope.
Then I happened to watch the podcast on CHANGECARS featuring the CEO of Stellantis South Africa.
Desperate for direction, I reached out to Michael Pashut asking for advice on my rights and the best way forward. Without hesitation, Michael stepped up. He personally contacted me and immediately escalated my situation directly to executive leadership. Shortly after, I received the news I had been praying for: my issue was being handled, and my bakkie was finally getting the priority attention it needed, and this was all done in 1 morning.
It is rare to find someone in the automotive space who genuinely fights for everyday motorists, educates us on our rights, and uses their influence to bring about real solutions. Michael, you gave me hope when I had run out of options. You proved that CHANGECARS isn't just a platform—it's backed by people who live up to their promises, transparency, and integrity.
I will forever be grateful for your support and top-tier service.

I bought a Renault Kwid (My first new car) Dymanique AMT model (2018 model). It was exciting and really enjoyed it. Maintenance was quite cheap after I paid cash for each service after the maintenance plan expired. Everything went well until the 5 year warranty expired. The first thing to go wrong was the boot cable which snapped, so I had to open the boot with a key but the major issue was that the car would just stop and not engage into gear. At this time, a heartbeat warning light would appear on the dash indicating a fault. Fortunately I had taken out an extended warranty with Discovery insure so I was able to submit a claim to get the car diagnosed. It turned out the clutch motor for the gear actuator was intermittently malfunctioning and needed to be replaced. Renault Quoted R26 782.40 total (image attached), but Discovery managed to get it reduced to R 24 348.62. Still a chunk of change but was grateful Discovery insure covered everything, including the diagnostic fee. Would strongly suggest taking an extended warranty on these vehicles. It's an extra R500 / month but well worth it. Since this last repair, I've sold the car to Weelee (which was effortless by the way) and bought a Suzuki

Dear Michael
In one of the recent podcasts you asked for VW stories and experiences.
Here's mine:
I have been a vw fan myself forever. Inhereted it from my dad. I am 53 years old.
My first trouble was in 2008 with a VW Touran 2.0TDI.
With less than 100k km on the clock, it decided one day to drop all its oil. Just like that.
I always service at VW Barons Bellville.
The car had to go back twice before it was eventually "fixed", I had to pay twice too. It was outside of the motorplan. Question is why not fix it the first time. Back twice, both instances was still because of the oil leak. They never know exactly themselves whats wrong and I think they guess a lot.
I eventually sold the car and bought a 2017 Toyota Rav 4, for my wife. Still has it today. 150 000km on the clock. Nothing wrong with it, nothing.
I drive a VW T-Cross (2019).
Bought it brand new.
at around 60 000 km the general warning light started appearing.
I took the car in, knowing the plan was about to expire. They can't find a problem after days in the shop.
Get the car back, but I am already telling them that you can't fix it, but my plan is about to expire. What happens if something serious goes and I am outside of plan.
Answer: wait and see.
So on 80000km the left headlight goes. completely dead. that unit is R12k to replace.
First problem: how does a light unit on a brand new car goes after 60000km? thats just bad.
I had to pay.
Fixed the light. and guess what, the warning light is also gone. Must have been something wrong for a while with that unit. But they could never find it. Makes me wonder if they even try.
Now 2 weeks ago, the car is in for a service. the Service consultants phones me and says the battery is leaking, and the technician is too scared to charge it, it may explode.
I say, but I replaced that battery at the dealership last year, April, isn't there a warranty on it?
She says I will go check.
Phones me back and says, yes you have 2 year warranty, but the technician decided to wash the battery and put it on charge and will check it before the end of the day.
So the end of the day I get the car back, with the same leaking battery, now all of sudden not a problem anymore. I said to them, what if the thing decides to go belly up just outside of warranty, must I pay then? A new battery is R8k I think.
Answer: wait and see.
My next car will be a Toyota too.....
Regards
Abrie

I'm writing you you to kindly assist me. I wish to lodge a formal complaint regarding the rejection of a warranty claim by Mahindra Clearwater and Mahindra South
Africa.
On 10 August 2026, my vehicle became immobile as I was unable to change gears. I arranged for a tow truck to take the
vehicle to Mahindra Clearwater. On 12 August 2026, I was advised that the vehicle would be stripped to determine the cause
of the fault. After receiving no update, I followed up on 13 August 2026 and was then provided with a quotation for the
replacement of the clutch, which I was expected to pay for.
I disputed this diagnosis as the vehicle is only 1 year and 5 months old, has approximately 35,000 km on the odometer, and
has been serviced according to the manufacturer's requirements. The vehicle is used solely for personal commuting, I am the
only driver, and I only travel to the office three times per week.
On 18 August 2026, I met with Wayne and Troy at Mahindra Clearwater. During the meeting, I was informed that the clutch
failure was allegedly due to my driving. I strongly disagreed and explained that I have more than 10 years of driving
experience, this is my seventh vehicle, and I have never experienced a clutch failure at such low mileage.
I was advised that the matter would be referred to Mahindra South Africa for review. However, after following up, I was
informed that the claim had been rejected on the grounds of improper operation rather than a manufacturing defect.
I dispute this finding and request an independent investigation. Given the vehicle's age, mileage, service history, and limited
use, I believe the conclusion that the clutch failure resulted from driver misuse is unreasonable.
I respectfully request your assistance in resolving this dispute.
With all of the above, Mahindra can't even provide me with the details of who was handling my claim at Mahindra SA.
I would appreciate if you could assist.

I urgently need help .
In a moment of madness I purchased a brand new JAC T9 4 x4 .From JAC Kempton park
It has had several issues over time, a slack timing belt which they eventually fixed but then created a oil leak , the tappet cover was silicone back in as they did not have the correct seat. The right back suspension was replaced and components on the front control arm was replaced. The right window opens and closes at will. The steering rack was replaced as it was deemed the culprit on the front control arms issue.
There are various other small issues irrelevant to mention now .
The car was in for weeks on end without them giving me a courtesy vehicle and just refusing.
I have been dealing with the COO of Mobilas motors Earl Klebb he in turn referred it to his Franchise Executive and the dealer DP who is mostly non existent.
This has been ongoing since delivery mileage the newest issue has now surfaced at 60 000.km,s there is a major gearbox and or engine issue which they are currently unable to rectify.
I do not trust this vehicle I do not want this vehicle anymore if i could get out of this deal without losing my pants I would do immediately.
If they are capable of repairing it I want a courtesy car for this period and competent repair teams working on my car.
I cannot afford for this vehicle to stand for a day I use it daily as an income driver.
I don't know what to do next and am reaching out to you for assistance.
If you could assist or steer me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated.
I trust that you will find this in order.

Hi Mikey,
I’ve come to you with the hope of finding a solution. I purchased a vehicle in February this year at Omoda Jaecoo Cape Town City.
Since then, I still haven’t received my owners manual, service book and promised new tail light replacement. I’ve followed up many times, been to the dealership, spoken to all levels of management and yet, I am just being ignored.
At this point, all I want is my service book so that I can see my cars service history.
I don’t know what you can do for me, but I can hope you can share some advice.

Hey all, my parents have a 2010 Chev Cruze. It was recalled earlier this year due to driver side airbag issues. I took the vehicle in on behalf of my parents (they are elderly). I was notified that the recall repair was done and can collect. Upon collecting I noticed that the airbag and service lights on the cluster were on. I notified them of it and left the vehicle for them to repair to its original state i.e. no warning lights on the cluster. It has been there since April and the deal cannot give me a date when it will be fixed. A month ago, I requested a courtesy vehicle and not getting a date for that as well. Currently looks like the car might still be there for the rest of my parents life and mine. Word of caution to anyone wanting to use Williams Hunt Midrand.
It is the same crowd that could not identify a hole in radiator on a friend's new Isuzu. Isuzu had them send it to Eastern Cape factory only to find a small hole in the radiator.

I would just like to take a moment to personally thank you for your involvement and assistance with the matter I have been dealing with involving King Price.
Your willingness to listen, engage with the issue, give your input and assist in communicating with the relevant parties has been sincerely appreciated. I genuinely believe that your involvement through Change Cars helped bring much-needed attention to the matter and contributed significantly towards moving it closer to resolution.
After dealing with this issue for an extended period, it made a real difference having someone willing to look at the situation objectively and help ensure that the concerns were properly heard.
I also want to acknowledge the broader work you continue to do through the Change Cars platform. The way in which you give consumers a voice and bring attention to matters where people may otherwise struggle to be heard is valuable, and I have a great deal of respect for the work you are doing.
We are certainly big supporters of Change Cars and appreciate the role you continue to play in assisting and informing the motoring public.
Thank you again for your time, your willingness to assist and the effort you put into this matter. It is genuinely appreciated.
I wish you and the Change Cars team all the best with the work you continue to do.

I am reaching out to ChangeCars regarding an ongoing dispute I have had with King Price Insurance for more than a month concerning the replacement of the windscreen on my BMW X3.
I recently saw the coverage and intervention by ChangeCars regarding a consumer dispute involving MyWay Insurance, and particularly the manner in which the issue was brought into the public domain. Having seen that, and considering the continued difficulty I am experiencing in obtaining a satisfactory resolution from King Price, I felt it appropriate to approach you regarding my own matter.
In short, King Price authorised the fitment of an aftermarket windscreen to my BMW X3. BMW subsequently identified a fault relating to the KAFAS camera windscreen heating system and has provided written confirmation regarding the technical problem and the resulting implications for the applicable BMW Motorplan/warranty.
My request to King Price has remained very straightforward: I want my vehicle restored to the condition and manufacturer specification it was in before the insurer-authorised windscreen replacement, including restoration of the affected BMW warranty position.
Despite providing King Price with BMW’s written findings, responding to requests for further information, repeatedly following up for feedback and confirming on more than one occasion that I am willing to cooperate with any proper assessment of the vehicle, the matter remains unresolved.
A particular concern has been the continued focus on camera recalibration, despite the technical issue identified by BMW relating to the windscreen-mounted KAFAS heating system being of a different nature. At one stage, King Price also informed me that PG Glass had advised them that I had declined to present the vehicle for assessment. This is inconsistent with my written correspondence, in which I expressly confirmed that I had no objection to presenting the vehicle for inspection. My concern related only to ensuring that the assessment investigated the actual fault identified by BMW rather than simply repeating a recalibration procedure.
I have attached/forwarded the correspondence below so that the sequence of events can be considered in context. I can also provide ChangeCars with the formal BMW documentation confirming the technical findings and warranty implications, together with the complete correspondence between myself and King Price.
After more than a month of attempting to resolve this directly, I have also already published reviews of my experience on Google Reviews, HelloPeter and Trustpilot, warning other consumers about the difficulties I have experienced in obtaining a meaningful resolution from King Price.
I mention this openly and have deliberately copied King Price into this correspondence. I want there to be no uncertainty regarding the seriousness with which I am treating this matter or my intention to continue pursuing it until it is properly resolved.
My preference remains for King Price to take responsibility for resolving the matter and restore my vehicle to the appropriate BMW specification. However, given the continued lack of satisfactory progress, I believe the experience now warrants broader public scrutiny.
Having seen the work ChangeCars has previously done in highlighting consumer experiences with insurers such as MyWay Insurance, I would appreciate it if you could review my case and consider assisting me in bringing the matter to the attention of your audience.
I am willing to provide any additional documentation or information you may require.

Nice show. suggestion for discussion. the americans made v8, cheap petrol and open roads. the English made 4 cyl about 1000cc rear wheel drive and later front wheel drive. the Germans VW made the beetle rear wheel drive engine in the back air cooled. the Italians the fiat 500. the french also front wheel drive about 800cc. what do you think the best balance between power to weight, no of cylinders, with regards to value for money ,reliability, fuel consumption . we seem to have settled on front wheel drive, transverse engine about 1000cc. do you think this is worth a discussion. the Chinese seem to have standardized on 1.5 petrol that is heavy on fuel!

Hi Michael,
I have bought a used Polo 1.0 tsi through change cars website and it was based at a cherry Jaecoo Cape Town dealership. What a bad service from day one! Am based in Gauteng, we did all the processes and I paid for the transport delivery fee to have it delivered in Boksburg. When I received the car it had scratches on the side and few other problems that were undisclosed to me. I shared some photos with the sales person who was assisting me on Saturday , his name is Ethan. He has since told me that he will speak to management and never reply back. Am also waiting for the papers and spare keys. Please help!
Kind regards,

Thank you Robert and I can confirm we have immediately removed this Dealership from our site. This is NOT the CHANGECARS way and your issues will be resolved. You have my word. Mike 083 377 5432

Good morning
I hope you’re well.
I follow your page on TikTok and I thought I would reach out. I recently purchased a Jetour T2 IDM and the service received from the Westrand delearship has been very disappointing. We received our vehicle on the 11 July 2026 and we are still in the dark about many things.
I would like to reach out to someone at the top to potentially submit a complaint or at least make them aware of what has transpired and the service that we have received and to hopefully get assistance from them.
Please let me know if you’re able to assist with the contact details of someone. If I recall correctly, on a video once it was mentioned that whoever heads up Jetour SA is quite helpful and amenable to assist customers.
Looking forward to hearing from you.

Good Day,
I am a proud follower of Changecars, podcast etc.
About a month back i was interested in purchasing a Omoda C5 Hev.
I contacted with Michael who instantly connected me with the Hatfield group (Fourways).
The service i received from this dealer from the moment i walked in until i left with the vehicle was just absolutely amazing. This includes all departments from sales, financial, service (workshop), all the people i encountered were just amazing. If i have to name at least one person it will be Joshau Gibson, which assited, arranged, followed up etc throughout the whole period.
A BIG shoutout also to Michael who also kept contact with me and dealer right through the whole process.
I just can’t describe my perfect experience with Changecars, Hatfield group and of cause the vehicle i got.
Thank you, Thank you.

Herewith my ongoing and unresolved experience involving my 2021 Haval H6 2.0T Premium 7DCT purchased from Kia Tygervalley on 29 December 2023 for R359,000 paid in cash.
Since ownership commenced, I have experienced repeated electrical, mechanical and safety-related failures that began only 14 days after purchase and continue to persist despite numerous repair attempts, multiple dealership interventions, escalation to management, and formal complaints.
Chronology of material events:
• 29 December 2023 – Purchased 2021 Haval H6 2.0T Premium 7DCT from Kia Tygervalley.
• 14 January 2024 – First serious electrical failure occurred while driving:
Main infotainment screen failed
Driver instrument cluster failed
Indicators ceased functioning
Warning systems became unavailable
• January 2024 – Meeting at Kia Tygervalley with Ms Mariam Najaar and Ms Beleisha Moolman. I was advised to take the vehicle directly to Haval due to the remaining warranty.
• 29 January 2024 – Vehicle attended Haval Brackenfell:
No fault found
Factory reset performed
No actual repair conducted
• March–May 2024 Repeated electrical failures continued together with brake seizure incidents.
• 18 July 2024 My wife and children were stranded at a school in Stellenbosch due to vehicle failure.
• 19 July 2024 Battery replaced at my own cost (R3,556.15) despite longstanding electrical complaints.
• July–December 2024 Further recurring electrical faults and warning systems failures persisted.
• 6 January 2025 Critical warnings appeared:
Water pump failure
High engine temperature
I telephonically contacted Mr Kieran Correia and informed him that we no longer wanted the vehicle because of repeated failures. I was requested to allow a final repair opportunity and the vehicle was sent to Haval Milnerton.
• Vehicle remained at Haval Milnerton for over 21 days with no effective repair.
• Following this, I registered a complaint directly with Haval South Africa.
• During April–May 2025, Haval South Africa referred the vehicle back to Haval Milnerton because they had last worked on it.
• Vehicle remained there approximately 40 additional days, with limited communication and no effective solution.
• 5 May 2025 MIOSA Case 506005 opened.
• 12 May 2025 Formal written refund request submitted.
• June, July and September 2025 Brake seizure incidents continued.
• 29 September 2025 Total engine failure confirmed.
• 18 December 2025 Vehicle returned as "repaired".
• 2 January 2026 Vehicle entered limp mode.
• 7 January 2026 Electrical blackout reoccurred.
• 12 January 2026 Formal rejection of vehicle submitted.
• 19 May 2026 While my wife and daughter were travelling from Paarl to Brackenfell after a netball event, the vehicle again experienced multiple electrical failures:
Main infotainment display malfunction
Instrument cluster malfunction
Indicator failure
Hazard light failure
Video evidence exists of these failures.
• Most recently, while refuelling the vehicle yesterday, I checked the coolant level and found it at the absolute minimum level.
Considering that a supposedly new factory engine was installed in September 2025 and that I only received the vehicle back on 18 December 2025, I have serious concerns that a further issue may exist involving the cooling system or engine installation.
This raises concern given that cooling-related warnings historically preceded catastrophic engine failure.
To date:
• 162 cumulative days deprived of use of the vehicle • More than 89 consecutive days off the road • Multiple failed repair attempts • Root cause still unidentified • Safety defects still recurring • Formal rejection remains in force
Despite meetings with dealership principals, regional management and Haval representatives, no durable remedy has been identified.
I have now also lodged a complaint with the National Consumer Commission (NCC) and currently await feedback regarding further action.

Good day Mike,
Just wanted to thank you for starting change cars. I've been following your videos for a while and it helped me make a decision on the bakkie I finally bought.
Was looking on Autotrader for days on end seeing amazingly low prices here and there from questionable dealers. Basically knowing its to good to be true prices and not even bothering to contact the dealer.
I was almost giving up when I remembered about Change Cars. I was on for less than 5 minutes before I found the Navara I wanted. Knowing you screen the dealers there was no hesitation to send them a message and the sales person reached out to me before I could even close the website, and it being after hours.
I was very impressed and the test drive and financing was done the next morning. I'm very happy with my bakkie.
I just wanted to thank you again. Keep up the good work.

Hi ChangeCars Team, I'm looking for some advice on a JAC warranty dispute. I bought a 2023 JAC T8 in June 2025 with 16,000 km. Before the next service was due, I asked JAC whether I should service it based on the 12-month interval or wait until 25,000 km because the mileage was still low. I was advised to wait until 25,000 km, which I did. The service was completed at around 24,000 km with no issues or indication of any turbo concerns. The vehicle is now on 37,000 km, and after the engine management light came on during a trip between Durban and Johannesburg, JAC diagnosed a failed turbo. They have since declined the warranty claim, stating that the previous service was two months late. Has anyone experienced something similar or have any advice? It doesn't seem fair that I relied on JAC's own advice and that this is now the reason for rejecting the claim. I have taken this up with them with no success. Looking forward to your feedback.

Good day Change cars team.
We would like to thank you for your guidance and support through out this journey,we really appreciate you guys.
My wife and I collected our beautiful Starlet Cross XS AT at Rand stadium Toyota The Glen around 13:00pm we were met with great stuff, hot coffee and a bubble F&I lady we felt like we have known the team for years they made up comfortable and were transparent through out the whole process we really appreciate it so much.
Immediately after collection we did what a Toyota does best which is to comfortably drive all the way to Limpopo,Tzaneen in Mavele Village we arrived safely 520 km's later, they graced us with a full tank, few gifts the biggest being my Hilux cap.
Keep doing the great work Change cars, there are still great dealerships that are honest and transparent out there we appreciate it so much.
As I'm typing this mail my wife just came back from work and as you know a happy wife, happy home🥰🤣.
If you guys need a ride some day please do send me a mail🤣🤣🤣🤣
God bless your hearts.

I met with Martin Smith yesterday on the 15th from the branch and he apologized for what had transpired. Unfortunately my service book is no where to be found however he offered to have a new one with the original stamps from the previous branch where I serviced my car before by next week and wanted to here my go-ahead first. He did mention that he spoke to the service consultant as well though I did emphasize that my most dissatisfaction was being ignored with dismissing statements when I questioned the service and no one deserves the service I had received and hope it stops. He acknowledged and thanked me for the comment so that they able to take and and improve service they provide to the clients. He offered to do a thorough car wash by next week as well and a full tank on my car.
I really hope the branch keeps up with their promise to maintain good communication, engagement and customer service in the future and no one either male or female goes through what I had to go through.
Thank you for the platform!

I was in negotiation with Mahindra Cape Metro for over a week regarding a vehicle. After going through the process, I submitted a firm offer to purchase. The dealership took three full days to respond to my offer, only to inform me that the vehicle had already been sold to another buyer. At no point during our communication did they disclose that there was another interested party or a competing offer. Given the timing, I strongly feel they simply used my firm offer as leverage to attract or close the deal with the other buyer. Extremely disapointed and a waste of time.

I dealt with the Hatfield Motor Group in Cape Town and I have no words that can explain my positive experience. Service excellence was what they displayed!
