Honda has introduced its updated Amaze compact sedan to South Africa, marking the model’s return with revised styling and enhanced cabin features. The launch positions the vehicle against rivals such as the Suzuki Dzire, Hyundai Grand i10 sedan, and Kia Pegas in a market segment increasingly overshadowed by SUV and hatchback preferences.
Pricing for the 2025 Amaze starts at R254 900 for the entry-level 1.2 Trend manual variant. The mid-tier 1.2 Comfort manual is priced at R274 000, with the CVT automatic version rising to R294 900.

Exterior updates include a redesigned front grille inspired by Honda’s CR-V, featuring a hexagonal honeycomb pattern, while the rear incorporates horizontal tail lamps that align it visually with the Honda Ballade.
The cabin adopts a redesigned dashboard influenced by the Civic and CR-V models, complete with an 8,0-inch infotainment screen, a continuous air vent strip, and a 7,0-inch digital driver display. Standard features across all variants include LED headlights, a reverse camera, keyless entry, and dual airbags.
The Comfort variant adds remote engine start, a wireless charger, automatic headlights, paddle shifters (CVT only), and six crash bags.

Both trims retain the 1,2-litre i-VTEC petrol engine, producing 66 kW and 11 0Nm. Honda emphasises reduced cabin noise through upgraded sound insulation and engineering adjustments to minimise engine and road vibrations.
The Amaze’s arrival aims to reignite interest in compact sedans amid shifting consumer trends, offering a balance of practicality and modern design.
