In a sweeping charge through its portfolio, Lamborghini has revamped its entire supercar lineup over the past 18 months, debuting the all-new Revuelto to succeed the Aventador and introducing the Temerario in place of the Huracan. But the Italian supercar icon has not overlooked its best-seller, the high-riding Urus, which accounts for 60% of its sales.
Following its global unveiling in April, the newly updated Lamborghini Urus SE has now arrived in South Africa with a starting price of R4 875 000. The refreshed model features a bold facelift with sharper front and rear styling that borrows from the aggressive design language of the Revuelto.

The front features the iconic Y-shaped headlights, immediately marking its Lamborghini lineage and customisation options abound, with a palette ranging from classic to vibrant colours, allowing for personal expression.
The large alloy wheels – with wheels sizes up to 23 inches – not only enhance the vehicle's aesthetics but also improve road grip and stability. The rear is equally striking, with sleek taillights and a streamlined spoiler that add to its sporty appeal. Inside, the use of high-quality materials like premium leather and fine craftsmanship ensures that the interior is as captivating as the exterior.

The former 4,0-litre twin-turbo V8 has been paired with a 141 kW electric motor, boosting combined power output to 588 kW and 950 Nm of torque. This added power propels the 2024 Urus SE from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3,4 seconds, shaving 0,2 seconds off the original model's acceleration time.
Adding to this is a 25,9 kWh lithium-ion battery nestled below the boot, enabling the Urus SE to travel up to 60 km on electric-only power, which Lamborghini claims could cut tailpipe emissions by up to 80%—as long as owners recharge regularly. The Urus SE Hybrid also features advanced regenerative braking, which helps to recharge the battery while driving, further enhancing its efficiency.
Engineers have also enhanced the chassis, with a new electronic limited-slip differential on the rear axle that works with the central electric torque vectoring system, allowing for greater agility and control on the road.

Inside, the Urus SE cabin has received a high-tech upgrade with a larger 12,3-inch central infotainment screen, improved graphics and multiple options for bespoke finishes, including 47 colour combinations and four embroidery styles.
A rotary control unit on the centre console allows drivers to select from six primary driving modes: Strada, Sport, and Corsa for road and track and Neve, Sabbia, and Terra for off-road terrain. Four new ‘Electric Performance Strategies’- EV Drive, Hybrid, Performance, and Recharge—offer adaptable energy management for any drive.
The Urus SE Hybrid also includes a host of driver-assistance features including adaptive cruise control and lane departure warning.
In summary, the Urus SE Hybrid is more than just a hybrid SUV; it is a statement of what is possible when a legendary brand like Lamborghini embraces innovation.
