Peugeot South Africa, a division of Stellantis South Africa, has introduced the new Peugeot Partner to the local market. The compact van adds to the brand’s light commercial vehicle line-up and is aimed at business operators who work primarily in urban environments.
The vehicle targets small business owners, courier services, delivery fleets and SMEs. According to the brand, the Partner is designed to offer a practical combination of efficiency, load capacity and basic connectivity, without unnecessary features that could raise the purchase price or maintenance bill. Demand for cost-efficient commercial vehicles has grown in the light commercial segment, and the Partner arrives as part of Peugeot’s wider expansion in that category.

Moeketsi Mapogo, Brand Head: Pro One LCV at Stellantis South Africa, said the Partner was developed with day-to-day operating costs in mind. “Businesses are under pressure to do more with fewer resources. Affordable and reliable transport is becoming essential. The new Partner focuses on low running costs, straightforward functionality and modern technology that supports everyday business needs.”
Power comes from a 1,6-litre HDi diesel engine that delivers 68 kW and 230 Nm of torque. The unit is paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox. The engine produces usable low-end pulling power, which suits stop-start delivery schedules and urban driving patterns.
Fuel consumption is listed at 5,1 L/100 km, which should help fleet managers reduce fuel-related expenses over time.

The Partner is available in two wheelbase configurations. The short wheelbase (SWB) version is new to South Africa. The long wheelbase (LWB) model remains available as well.
Load length on the SWB is 1 817 mm. The LWB stretches that to 2 167 mm and offers up to 4,4 m³ of load volume when the Multiflex bench seat is configured for cargo. The LWB derivative can carry a payload of up to 1 000 kg.
Access to the load area is helped by dual sliding side doors and rear doors that open to 180 degrees. That setup makes loading and unloading easier in tight parking bays or narrow streets.

Inside, the driver gets a 10-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10-inch HD touchscreen infotainment system. Connectivity includes WiFi mirroring, Bluetooth, AM/FM/DAB radio, two USB ports and steering wheel controls.
Manual air conditioning, electric front windows (one-touch), an electric parking brake, adjustable seats and overhead storage are fitted as standard. The cabin is laid out for function rather than style, with controls placed within easy reach.
Standard safety features include Emergency Braking Assistance (EBA), Electronic Stability Programme (ESP), cruise control with a speed limiter, a tyre pressure monitoring system, rear parking sensors, a rear-view camera, and driver and passenger airbags.
Automatic headlights (dusk-sensing) and rain-sensing wipers are also included. These help reduce driver workload in changing weather or light conditions.
The Peugeot Partner keeps external dimensions compact, which improves manoeuvrability in dense traffic and older urban layouts where parking bays can be narrow. Payload capacity, fuel efficiency and basic durability are the main engineering priorities for operators running high-mileage schedules.
