Mazda Southern Africa has adjusted the pricing on its Mazda2 1.5 Active Manual Transmission, bringing the hatchback in at R289 900 for a limited period. The offer applies to the existing specification level without removing any of the standard features or ownership benefits that have defined the model since its introduction.

The exterior styling features LED headlights, colour-coded wheel covers and fold-away mirrors, while the compact dimensions make the car manageable in traffic, parking bays and the tighter spaces that characterise urban driving.

Under the bonnet, a 1,5-litre petrol engine produces 85 kW and 148 Nm of torque, routed through a six-speed manual gearbox. Mazda's Jinba-Ittai philosophy, which emphasises the connection between driver and machine, informs the tuning of the steering, suspension and throttle response. The result is a hatchback that feels responsive and composed during daily commutes as well as longer weekend trips.

Inside the cabin, the focus is on convenience. A touchscreen infotainment system with six speakers, power windows, keyless entry and start and central locking are all included as standard equipment. These features aim to simplify the small routines that make up the driving experience rather than add complexity.

Safety equipment includes anti-lock brakes and automatic door locking when the vehicle is in motion, both designed to operate without requiring attention from the driver. The ownership package offers a 5-year unlimited kilometre warranty, a 3-year unlimited kilometre service plan and 5-year roadside assistance, providing clarity on running costs over the medium term.

Deolinda Da Costa, Head of Marketing and Communications at Mazda Southern Africa, says the model has consistently offered strong value and that the promotion makes that value more apparent. She emphasised no specification items, driving characteristics or ownership benefits have been altered to reach the promotional figure. For many first-time buyers, she added, the decision should not involve a trade-off between excitement and reassurance, and the Mazda2 Active aims to deliver both.

The promotional pricing applies while stocks last, and terms and conditions are in place. Buyers are advised to confirm current availability and final specifications with their nearest Mazda dealership, as features may vary by derivative and are subject to change.
