South Africa is on the brink of a transformative phase in its automotive sector, with the introduction of two brand new vehicle series. The Salvador Caetano Group is joining forces with GAC Motor to initiate an ambitious introduction of their models and a comprehensive plan to expand their market reach.
Leslie Ramsoomar, the managing director of Salvador Caetano in South Africa, shared his optimism about this partnership, noting the dynamic nature of the South African auto market and the increasing consumer interest in innovative products.
"South Africa is not just a significant market for us; it serves as a crucial entry point to the wider African continent, where we see vast opportunities to build a robust market presence, boost our revenue, and establish ourselves as a prominent industry player," he explained.
The upcoming 2024 vehicle lineup from GAC Motor includes the Emkoo, notable for its striking front grille with rhythmic lighting and a smart, interactive cabin designed to elevate the driving experience through a fusion of style, innovation, and safety. Another exciting addition is the Emzoom, an SUV that combines high safety standards with powerful performance, offering a well-rounded and secure driving experience with excellent fuel efficiency.

The lineup will also feature the D90 SUV, a seven-seater equipped with a 160 kW bi-turbo diesel engine, an 8-speed automatic transmission, and a sophisticated all-terrain response system, boasting a 5-star Safety Rating. Conradie also noted the technological enhancements in the latest D90 models, including multi-zone climate control, a JBL-tuned sound system, and up to three differential locks in the 4x4 variants.
The introduction of the G90 MPV is set to redefine luxury in its segment, with features like adjustable rear seats, quilted leather upholstery, and a panoramic sunroof. For commercial use, the G10+ Delivery Van offers a viable option with its spacious cargo area and efficient performance, facilitated by a smooth automatic transmission and a reverse camera.
