After launching the C5 Luxury X and Elegance X models earlier this year, OMODA & JAECOO South Africa are now improving the Style and Street versions. These improvements mean more power, new transmission choices, better specs and a nice jump in how well they perform.
The new Street+ gets a good output boost, jumping from 83 kW to 115 kW and torque goes from 138 Nm to 230 Nm. This comes from the same turbo-charged 1,5-litre four-cylinder engine used in all C5 models. The result? A drive that feels much more alive and responds faster and uses less fuel, going from 7,3 l/100 km to 6,9 /100 km.

The power goes to the front wheels through a CVT (continuously variable transmission). Drivers can set it to two modes: Eco and Sport. The Street+ still has the MacPherson front and torsion beam rear suspension and it uses disc brakes on all wheels. The front brakes are ventilated for extra stopping ability.
Even though it’s the base model in the C5 lineup, the Street+ has a good list of standard stuff that makes it feel far from basic. It comes with 17-inch alloy wheels, heated door mirrors and a black cloth interior. For comfort, it has air-conditioning, rear parking sensors, automatic headlights, a rear-view camera and cruise control, all standard. You also get keyless entry and a push-button start, which makes it easy to use every day. The infotainment system has a 10,25-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Bluetooth. The sound is better too, with six speakers instead of four.
Shannon Gahagan, National Brand and Marketing Manager at OMODA & JAECOO South Africa, says, “OMODA keeps pushing the limits of what you can expect from a base-level crossover. The Street+ gives you the same reliable performance, comfort and tech as the rest of the C5 range, but at a price that makes it more affordable.”

Moving up the C5 line, the Style model looks like the Luxury X and Elegance X models that came out in April 2025 but the CVT is gone, replaced by a dual-clutch transmission. This makes gear changes smoother and more exact and improves efficiency with fuel down from 7,4 l/100 km to 6,9 l/100 km – m and it gets faster too.
It now goes from 0-100 km/h in nine seconds, which is 0,9 seconds faster than the old C5 Style. Plus, drivers can now pick from three driving modes: Eco, Normal, and Sport.
Underneath the skin, OMODA has also given the C5 Style X some mechanical upgrades, with a multilink rear suspension that replaces the torsion beam setup from the old Style model.
The specs have been updated as well. The halogen headlights are now LEDs, which make the C5 Style X look better and also help you see better at night. The Style X adds to the Street+ with a leather steering wheel, sports seats and other comfort upgrades.
Like the Luxury X and Elegance X, the Style X also has a bigger trunk, growing from 378 to 442 litres. With the back seats down, you get a load space of 1 149 litres.
Both the Street+ and Style X have a full set of safety systems including anti-lock brakes, electronic brake-force distribution (EBD) and an Electronic Stability Programme (ESP), along with front and front side crash bags. Both models also have ISOFIX child-seat anchor points.
