BAIC South Africa has shown Arcfox, the premium new energy vehicle brand under the BAIC Group, at the Festival of Motoring 2026, the initial step in introducing Arcfox to local consumers ahead of its expected market launch later this year. Arcfox has been developed as BAIC Group’s flagship intelligent electric vehicle marque, aimed at drivers who place emphasis on innovation, build quality and connected mobility.
Beyond pure electrification, Arcfox has invested in software-driven vehicle architecture, digital cockpit interfaces and driver assistance technologies, making it one of the more technologically focused brands within the BAIC portfolio. Several global models have been developed in collaboration with partners including Huawei, which has contributed to the brand’s reputation in the field of intelligent mobility solutions.

The Arcfox T1 features contemporary exterior styling, electric drivetrain technology and a cabin equipped with a wraparound digital layout that includes an 8,8-inch instrument cluster and a 15,6-inch floating touchscreen display.
Arcfox operates under the broader BAIC Group, one of the larger automotive manufacturers globally, with a history spanning 60 years.
Ameena Sheik Hassan, Brand and PR Manager at BAIC South Africa, said Arcfox represents a new chapter for BAIC in the country, bringing a premium, technology-led electric vehicle to a market that is ready for it. She added the Festival of Motoring gave local audiences their first real look at what the brand stands for before it goes on sale, and that the company is building this launch on strong global momentum.
