Things have gone dark at Audi South Africa with the launch of four new Black Edition models to the Q5 midsize SUV range and the newcomers – Q5 40 TDI 140 kW and 40 TFSI 183 kW –  are available in both SUV and Sportback body styles.

Positioned above the Advanced trim line, these models are equipped with Audi’s four-cylinder turbo-diesel and turbo-petrol engines, paired with a 7-speed S-tronic dual-clutch transmissiony.

Specification enhancements include black styling plus package and black mirrors, 20-inch 5-spoke alloy wheels, Matrix LED headlamps, technology package including MMI navigation plus and Audi connect infotainment services along with the Deluxe package that includes a Panoramic sunroof, trailer hitch, comfort key, city assistance package (rear-view camera, lane-change assist, pre-sense rear), sport seats with electric memory adjustment and 4-way lumbar support .

The Q5 40 TDI 140 kW Black Edition is priced at R1 210 500 (SUV) and R1 273 500 (Sportback), while the Q5 40 TFSI 183 kW Black Edition costs R1 215 600 (SUV) and R1 278 400 (Sportback).

Powered by a 3,0-litre turbo-petrol engine that delivers 260 kW and 500 Nm of torque and paired with an eight-speed torque-converter Tiptronic automatic transmission, the SQ5 accelerates from 0-100 km/h in a claimed 4,9 seconds.

As the flagship model in the Q5 line-up, the SQ5 Black Edition gains the black styling plus package and black mirrors, 21-inch 5-spoke alloy wheels, Matrix LED headlamps, Bang & Olufsen premium sound system, Audi phone box, adaptive air suspension, a oark assist package and a storage and luggage package.

The SQ5 TFSI Black Edition is priced at R1 541 000 (SUV) and R1 612 800 (Sportback).
