In a move set to redefine automotive aftersales, Chery has announced a first-of-its-kind Trans-national Warranty Programme, commencing in 2026. This initiative effectively dismantles the traditional regional barriers of vehicle service, promising owners the freedom of ‘buy anywhere, service anywhere’ across the globe.
A kind of why didn’t anybody think of that before moment!
For South African motorists, this represents a major upgrade in ownership flexibility. Whether embarking on a cross-continental road trip, taking a work assignment abroad, or permanently relocating, Chery owners will have access to warranty support in any market where the brand has an authorised dealership.
"This programme is a game-changer for customer confidence and mobility," says Floris du Toit, Aftersales Director at Chery South Africa. "It grants our customers true peace of mind. The reassurance that your Chery's warranty support travels with you—be it to Namibia, Kenya, or beyond—is powerful. It underscores our core promise of putting customers first with a world-class, borderless ownership experience."
The warranty will cover Chery's full model range, from passenger cars to SUVs and bakkies, in all markets where its vehicles are sold.
Should a warranty issue arise outside a customer's home country, they can simply visit the nearest authorised Chery service centre. The terms of the original purchase agreement will be honoured, with specific procedures adapted to local market regulations.
A key enabler of this programme is a newly implemented global digital management system. This network links service centres worldwide, allowing technicians to instantly access a vehicle's warranty data, process claims, and coordinate the cross-border supply of genuine Chery parts. The aim is to ensure consistent, high-quality service and efficient repairs, from initial diagnosis to final sign-off, at any point on the map.

This launch marks a strategic evolution for Chery, shifting from merely exporting products to globalising its entire service ethos. Building on its 'Chery Family Care' service brand launched in 2025, the company continues to invest in standardising and strengthening its international aftersales network.
The Trans-national Warranty is positioned as the next step in delivering more convenient and professional ownership experiences worldwide, with plans for further system enhancements on the horizon.
