The team behind the Destinator set out to design a ‘Confidence Booster for Energetic Families’. The result is a proper seven-seater with a 1,5-litre Turbo engine (120 kW, 215 Nm) spacious three-row layout, aimed at fitting into busy, modern lives. The design was shaped around two ideas: ‘Gravitas & Dynamism’. ‘Gravitas’, says Mitsubishi comes from its low, wide stance that gives it a planted, confident look on the road. ‘Dynamism’ speaks to its handling and manoeuvrability, aided by good ground clearance and the kind of performance you'd want from an SUV.

According to the award judges, the exterior uses geometric lines to create a solid impression, but this is balanced by softer surfaces that keep the design from feeling too severe. The overall posture looks planted firmly on the road. Up front, a clean and minimal surface treatment nods to current trends while adding to the vehicle's substantial feel.

A key detail is the T-shaped layout that brings the headlights together into a single unit, a move that adds a layer of sophistication. By blacking out the pillars and roof, the design keeps the silhouette clean and modern, mixing SUV strength with a sharper, urban edge.

Inside, a horizontal theme paired with a large display screen focuses on practicality and a sense of space, creating a cabin that feels both calm and current. In all, the Destinator’s design works to bring together a feeling of robustness with precise detailing, striking a considered balance between strength and refinement.
