The current generation Ford Everest is arguably the best one yet. Take its design for instance, it's difficult to find fault in Ford’s latest DNA, be it in the new Ranger or the Everest. With two variants on the table when it was introduced, Ford has upped it to six including the new Everest Wildtrak.

As the latest member of the Everest family, the Ford Everest Wildtrak finds its place beneath the range-topping Everest Platinum, an appropriately high rank for a Wildtrak badged model. It shares the same 3.0l V6 engine with the Platinum, which is good for 184kW and 600Nm through a 10-speed automatic gearbox from Ford. As expected, the Wildtrak is equipped with 4WD as well as 4H and 4L for those who intend to take it out for more than just a stroll on paved roads. However, for day-to-day driving, it can still be left in 2H where only the rear wheels are driven. Six Drive modes are at your disposal, and they include Normal, Eco, Tow/Haul, Slippery, Mud & Ruts, and Sand. Should you be the off-roading type, you can opt for 18-inch wheels with all-terrain tyres, otherwise 20-inch wheels are standard on the Wildtrak.

The 12-inch touch infotainment screen in the Everest Wildtrak has Ford's latest SYNC 4A infotainment system with wireless smartphone integration through Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. You also get the option of USB-A or USB-C charging ports, an uncommon but valuable touch from Ford, in addition to the wireless charging pad. As a bonus, Ford has fitted the Wildrak with a 400W/240v inverter. Starting price for the Ford Everest Willdtrak is R1 084 000. Have a look at the full Ford Everest pricelist below.
