Zwartkops Raceway played host to a title-deciding Saturday as the 2026 Extreme Festival crowned the bulk of its national circuit racing champions, with Julian van der Watt emerging as the premier South African Touring Cars champion.
Van der Watt sealed the SATC crown in style, recovering from a reversed-grid start to win race two ahead of Michael van Rooyen and Keegan Campos. Campos had earlier converted pole position into victory in race one, heading home the Toyota pair of Jason Coetzee and van Rooyen, but it was van Rooyen who walked away with overall day honours.

The Astron Energy Polo Cup title will go down to the wire at Kyalami in November. Christopher Tait grabbed Friday's Superpole, but Hannes Scheepers and Mauro Da Luz shared the Saturday spoils, with Scheepers taking the round by less than a second from Da Luz. Scheepers now needs just two points to close out the championship. Wayne Masters and Derick Smalberger split the Masters wins, Smalberger taking the day and keeping that title alive to the final round.
Aqil Alibhai dominated the opening Investchem MSA4 heat from pole ahead of Mikel Bezuidenhout, but the title fight boiled over in heat two when the rivals collided at Turn 4 on lap five. Bezuidenhout's race ended in what officials later ruled a 50/50 racing incident, and Alibhai held off Guido Bidoli to take the win and the championship. Nicholas van Weely, meanwhile, swept to Formula Kent honours.

On two wheels, Clinton Seller was in commanding form in the SunBet ZX10 Masters Cup with a pair of race wins, but two second places were enough for Damien Purificati to wrap up the title with a round still to run. The ZX10s will race again in East London.

Sebastian Dias took Rookie Cup race one from Luke Hill before Sebastian Venkov won heat two ahead of Keyaan Dwomoh and Dias. Third place was enough to hand Dias the championship and a Volkswagen factory drive for 2027, while Venkov claimed overall day honours.
Reagile Mailula swept the Toyota Gazoo Racing SA Cup for his maiden main circuit race win in the GR86 class, but Namibian Kobus Reynecke did just enough to clinch that tight title. Devon Scott won the Dealer Challenge to take the crown, while already-crowned champion Nabil Abdool added another Media Challenge double.
It brings the curtain down on a testing 2026 season marked by venue swaps, race cancellations and tragedy, yet the racing itself delivered throughout. Three champions remain to be decided at their standalone finales in November at Kyalami and Zwartkops before the Festival regroups for 2027.
