The SUV games have begun in earnest and the salvo fired by Chery sees a special launch price of R499 900 for the new Tiggo 8 Pro Executive Plus – compared to the standard retail figure of R529 000 and likely to rattle some cages in the segment even if it is just a limited time offer.
The Tiggo 8 Pro Executive Plus boasts a design inspired by the top-spec Pro Max model, featuring 18-inch alloy wheels and a diamond-effect grille with an illuminated Chery badge. Exterior highlights include LED headlights and taillights, roof rails, privacy glass and a panoramic sunroof.

“The Tiggo 8 Pro Executive Plus combines affordability with sophistication, delivering advanced technology, strong performance, and safety,” says Verene Petersen, Chery South Africa’s National Marketing Manager.
Under the bonnet, the Executive Plus is powered by a turbo-charged 1,6-litre engine, producing 145 kW and 290 Nm of torque. Paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, the front-wheel-drive SUV offers fuel consumption rated at 7,3 l/100 km. Drivers can choose from three driving modes — Standard, Eco and Sport — and two steering modes for a personalised driving experience.
The suspension system, features MacPherson struts at the front and a multi-link setup at the rear, while ventilated front disc brakes provide enhanced stopping power.

Inside, the Tiggo 8 Pro Executive Plus accommodates seven passengers on black leather upholstery across three rows. The front seats are electronically adjustable and heated, with the driver’s seat offering memory functionality. Dual-zone climate control, a cooled glovebox and third-row air-conditioning ensure a comfortable cabin environment for all occupants.
High-tech features include a 10,25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, paired with an eight-speaker Sony sound system. A 12,3-inch digital driver’s display provides real-time information, while Intelligent Voice Control allows hands-free operation of key features such as the sunroof and climate settings.
The Executive Plus comes equipped with six crash bags, anti-lock braking, traction control and ISOFIX mounts as standard. Advanced driver-assist systems include Lane Departure Warning, Blind Spot Detection, Front Collision Warning, Automatic Emergency Braking, and Adaptive Cruise Control. Parking is made easier with rear sensors and a 360-degree camera.
Chery is backing the Executive Plus with a 5-year/60 000 km service plan and a 5-year/150 000 km warranty.
