Porsche has pulled the wraps off a new generation of its Porsche Communication Management system, set to roll out across the 911, Taycan, Panamera and Cayenne ranges. The upgrade brings a fresh hardware platform, a new interface called Porsche Digital Interaction and a broader digital ecosystem, all aimed at delivering sharper performance and a more consistent user experience across the brand's model lines.
Oliver Seifert, Head of Infotainment & Connect, said the new generation of infotainment allows Porsche to build a more powerful digital platform that combines enhanced performance, intelligent connectivity and a consistent experience across multiple model lines. He added the mix of a modern system-on-chip architecture, Porsche Digital Interaction and an expanded digital ecosystem enables the company to keep developing the in-car Porsche experience.

All the Porsche you could ever want - just a click away
At the core of the new hardware sits a modern system-on-chip architecture with up to five times the computing power of the previous generation. Drivers and passengers can expect faster system start-ups, shorter loading times and smoother operation, while multiple applications can run in parallel more conveniently.
Apps also stay active in the background and are ready more quickly when switching between them. The architecture lays the technical groundwork for future digital functions and continuous development, with comprehensive over-the-air updates allowing software and selected functions to be refined even after a vehicle has been delivered.
Porsche Digital Interaction brings the design and interaction language first seen in the Cayenne Electric to the 911, Taycan, Panamera and Cayenne models with combustion and hybrid powertrains.
The system combines modern UX/UI design, a consistent operating logic and extensive personalisation options. Clear layouts, fast responses and uniform operating logic create a cohesive digital experience across the various displays.
A standout feature is a high-quality, freely rotatable 3D model of the car in its actual exterior colour, which offers intuitive access to selected vehicle functions and settings directly through the virtual car. Five selectable themes and configurable widgets round off the concept, letting customers tailor the in-car digital experience to their personal preferences.
Navigation Plus debuts state-of-the-art mapping technology and a new 3D map display, with online map data and real-time traffic information supporting route guidance. In fully electric vehicles, the Porsche Charging Planner plans charging stops and factors in battery preconditioning.
The enhanced Voice Pilot, powered by AI and built on a large language model, can process natural language, multi-step requests and follow-up questions. Navigation, selected vehicle functions, media and selected apps can all be controlled by voice, and new software versions and selected functional enhancements are delivered directly to the vehicle via over-the-air updates.

The new platform also advances Porsche's blended ecosystem strategy, seamlessly merging the Porsche ecosystem with customers' own digital ecosystems. Apps and services from the vehicle, smartphone and third-party providers are integrated through standardised interfaces to create a unified digital experience.
The App Center allows Porsche and third-party apps to be integrated directly into the vehicle, with customers able to select, download and update apps individually. The range covers audio and video streaming, navigation, and parking and charging services, and is continually being expanded.
For the first time, Apple Music is available directly in the car via the Porsche App Center, and when paired with the Bose and Burmester 3D High-End Surround Sound Systems, the platform supports Dolby Atmos for a particularly immersive audio experience. Other compatible apps can also use Dolby Atmos via Apple CarPlay, provided they support the function. Smartphone integration goes further still, including map display in the instrument cluster and EV routing with battery preconditioning in selected markets.
The new generation of infotainment, including Porsche Digital Interaction, will be gradually introduced in newly produced vehicles from the 911, Taycan, Panamera and Cayenne model lines. Availability may vary depending on market, model, production date and equipment.
