Audi is gearing up for 2025 with a refreshed and sportier take on its popular A3 Sportback and Sedan models. Alongside a sleek new design, the range has been streamlined to make purchasing an A3 more straightforward, with expanded standard features and a stylish Black Edition variant offering added visual flair.
The 2025 Audi A3 series showcases a more dynamic and progressive design, exuding sportiness and sophistication. At the forefront is a revamped hexagonal, frameless Singleframe grille, now flatter and wider, giving the car a commanding presence. Complementing the bold grille are angular side air intakes and a striking front spoiler that visually lowers the vehicle, amplifying its athletic stance.

The lighting has also been reimagined with thinner, more refined LED headlights. These feature a 24-pixel digital daytime running light system, offering increased visibility and customisable light signatures via Audi's MMI interface.
At the rear, the refreshed bumper and distinctive diffuser highlight the A3’s progressive styling. The standard S line exterior draws inspiration from Audi’s RS models, enhancing the car's sporty appeal. An eye-catching new colour, District Green, further accentuates its dynamic aesthetic.

Inside, the A3’s cabin reflects the same attention to detail, featuring sharper and more luxurious elements. Updates include a redesigned gear shifter, sleeker air vents with chrome finishes, and newly introduced decorative fabric inlays. The cabin lighting has also been upgraded, with ambient light now accentuating the doors, footwells, and centre console.
The interior isn’t just about aesthetics—it’s about comfort and convenience, too. The A3 now comes equipped with an expanded suite of standard features, including a multifunction leather steering wheel, panoramic glass sunroof, and the ambient light package plus. Additionally, the new SONOS sound system delivers immersive 3D audio through strategically placed speakers, ensuring a premium in-car experience.

Sustainability plays a role in the new interior design. Recycled materials like Dinamica microfiber and technical polyester fabric are used for seat covers, door panels, and decorative inlays. These materials mimic the luxurious feel of suede while being environmentally friendly.
For South Africa, the A3 range will initially feature the 1,5-litre 35 TFSI turbo-charged petrol engine. Delivering 110 kW and 250 Nm of torque, the engine is paired with a seven-speed S tronic dual-clutch transmission and a mild-hybrid system for a balance of power and efficiency. Sportier derivatives are expected to join the lineup later in 2025.
The 2025 A3 will be available in two trims: S line and Black Edition. The S line boasts features like 18-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights with dynamic turn signals, sports seats, and Audi's virtual cockpit. The Black Edition takes it up a notch with black accents on the grille, rings, and mirrors, along with privacy glass and exclusive 18-inch black alloy wheels for a striking finish.
Pricing details for the updated A3 range are expected to be announced in early 2025. Every model will include Audi’s 5-year/100,000 km Freeway Plan, providing comprehensive service and maintenance cover.
