Volkswagen’s smallest SUV in its ‘T’ family, the T-Cross, has firmly established itself as the brand’s best-selling SUV in South Africa. Sharing its MQB A0 platform with the sixth-generation Polo hatchback, it has become the top imported model for Volkswagen in the country, with 36 000 units sold.
The new T-Cross, with its fresh design and advanced technology, aims to set a new benchmark in the compact SUV market. The exterior sees significant updates, including redesigned front and rear sections with integrated LED headlights, LED daytime running lights, and LED taillight clusters. A new feature for the T-Cross is the IQ.LIGHT LED matrix headlights, a first for this model. Additionally, three vibrant new colours—Grape Yellow, Clear Blue Metallic, and Kings Red Metallic—have been introduced to the range.

Inside, the T-Cross features a reimagined dashboard with higher-quality soft-touch materials, aligning it with Volkswagen’s larger models. The centrepiece is a free-standing 8-inch touchscreen infotainment display, now standard across all derivatives, along with a digital cockpit.
The T-Cross also boasts advanced lighting technology, including 24 LEDs per headlight module and an illuminated strip on the radiator grille, part of the IQ.Light package standard on the Style and R-Line variants.
Safety and convenience are enhanced with an array of driver assistance systems, such as Predictive Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Assist, and Emergency Assist, all included in the semi-automated Travel Assist package.
The entry-level T-Cross has been significantly upgraded with new LED headlights, taillight clusters, a digital cockpit, and the new infotainment display. The top-end R-Line model retains its sporty appeal with enhanced features.

The new Mustang GT blends modern, chiselled looks with heritage-inspired design elements, including a low, wide front, Tri-Bar LED headlamps, and a sleek roofline. The powerful 5,0-litre Coyote V8 engine, delivering 328 kW and 540 Nm of torque, is the most potent in a Mustang GT to date. It is complemented by a range of advanced features, including a 12,4-inch digital instrument cluster, a 13,2-inch SYNC 4 centre stack, and a premium B&O sound system.
In South Africa, the Mustang GT will come equipped with the Performance Pack, adding track-focused features like MagneRide active suspension, Brembo brakes, and an active valve performance exhaust system.

Jaecoo, part of the Chery Group’s rapidly expanding O&J division, has officially confirmed the launch of the fully electric J6 in South Africa. The J6, a rugged, retro-inspired SUV, will be unveiled at the upcoming Festival of Motoring, offering a blend of city comfort and off-road capability.
Shannon Gahagan, National Brand and Marketing Manager for OMODA & JAECOO, emphasised the J6 represents the next step in the brand’s new-energy vehicle strategy. The J6 follows the success of the J7, which saw Jaecoo rise to 26th place among 54 automotive brands in South Africa within just three months of its launch.

Volvo Car South Africa showcased a special ‘Adventure Beast’ edition of the XC90 at the 2024 Festival of Motoring, alongside the high-performance EX30 Twin Motor Performance on the track.
The ‘Adventure Beast’, developed in collaboration with Swedish company Thule, features a range of enhancements, including 20-inch all-terrain tyres and a rooftop tent, underscoring the XC90’s versatility as a luxury vehicle for outdoor enthusiasts.
