Subaru Southern Africa has bolstered its ownership offering with a revised maintenance plan that now comes as standard on all new vehicles sold through its authorised dealerships. The change takes effect from August 1, 2026.The upgraded plan extends the standard maintenance cover from three years or 75 000 kilometres to five years or 105 000 kilometres, giving buyers an additional two years and 30 000 kilometres of cover at no extra cost. This move effectively increases the service period included in the purchase price of every new Subaru.
The initiative, which falls under the banner ‘Love our new standard’, forms part of the brand's broader strategy to improve the ownership experience and deliver more tangible value to customers. It sits alongside Subaru's existing five-year or 150 000 kilometre vehicle warranty, which remains in place.

According to Subaru Southern Africa, the enhanced maintenance package is designed to offer greater long-term reassurance to buyers while sharpening the brand's competitive edge in a market where premium offerings continue to raise the bar.
Nteo Nkoli, National Marketing Manager at Subaru Southern Africa, said the increase from the previous three-year cap to the new five-year threshold represented a significant step up in what the company includes as standard.
He says customers are making a long-term commitment when they purchase a new vehicle and the extended cover is intended to reinforce that confidence. He added the package strengthens the overall Subaru proposition while staying true to the brand's established reputation for safety, build quality and off-road capability.
For those looking for even greater coverage, Subaru is offering an optional extension of the maintenance plan by an additional two years or 45 000 kilometres. This brings the total potential maintenance cover to seven years or 150 000 kilometres.
The maintenance plan covers all scheduled servicing as well as a range of specified wear-and-tear components, including brake pads, wiper blades, key batteries and vehicle batteries. These items are often excluded from basic service plans offered by other manufacturers, making the Subaru package more comprehensive in its standard form.
The new plan applies across the entire Subaru model range and is automatically included with every new vehicle purchased through the authorised dealer network from the start of August.

With this adjustment, Subaru Southern Africa is effectively raising the baseline of what buyers can expect when they drive off the showroom floor, offering a more complete ownership package that extends well beyond the initial purchase period.
