Volkswagen Group Africa is bringing a fresh line-up of vehicles to the 2026 Nampo Harvest Day, giving visitors a first look at several models that have not yet been seen in South Africa.

The show runs from  May 12 to 16 in Bothaville, Free State, where the company will display a mix of passenger cars, commercial vehicles and even a few Ducati motorcycles. Among the highlights are models that hint at where the brand is headed – including electrified options, premium offerings and the next generation of workhorses.

Nampo is known as the southern hemisphere’s biggest agricultural expo, drawing farmers, agri-business leaders, and industry insiders year after year. For Volkswagen Group Africa, showing up here is about more than just shiny metal – it’s a nod to the farming and commercial sectors that keep large parts of the local economy moving.

At the group’s stand, visitors can expect a hands-on experience. On the commercial side, the Amarok 222 kW PanAmericana takes centre stage – a bakkie built for tough conditions without skimping on comfort. Alongside it, the Crafter, Transporter and Vivo Xpress will be on show, all known for handling demanding environments. There’s also a chance to preview the new Caravelle plug-in hybrid.

From the passenger vehicle stable, the Audi Q3 will be there to represent the brand’s take on compact luxury and tech. Volkswagen’s own Golf GTI – a long-time fan favourite – will make an appearance, as will the Touareg Final Edition, a send-off for one of the brand’s most capable SUVs. And for those who prefer two wheels, Ducati will have several bikes on display and on track, bringing a bit of Italian engineering and flair to the mix.

“Our presence at Nampo is about showing that we understand what the agricultural sector needs – vehicles that are tough, reliable, and fit for both work and everyday life,” says Niels Wichmann, acting Director of Sales and Marketing at Volkswagen Group Africa. “Beyond just displaying products, we want people to chat with our experts, get a feel for the new tech, and see where we’re taking mobility.”

He adds, “Being at Nampo 2026 underlines our commitment to South Africa’s key industries. We’re offering solutions that match the energy and resilience of the people who use them every day.”
