Geely Auto will roll out the first global over-the-air (OTA) update for the Geely E5 in South Africa. The update, released across international markets, focuses on improving everyday usability by optimising connectivity, responsiveness, and safety-related functions.

Key changes in this OTA release:
• Android Auto support — expanded compatibility with Android systems for broader in-vehicle integration.
• Customisable AVAS — three selectable low-speed alert sound profiles to suit different preferences.
• Drive Setup one-touch activation — a single control to adjust multiple intelligent driving functions quickly.
Built on Geely’s GEA platform, the E5 introduces the GEEA 3.0 electronic and electrical architecture. The centralised computing approach with coordinated regional control is designed to improve system responsiveness and stability, and to enable continuous, whole-vehicle OTA updates so the cockpit and vehicle systems can be updated over the car’s lifecycle.

The Geely E5 has been recognised by the Turin Automotive Design Award for its interior and holds 5-star safety ratings from Euro NCAP and ANCAP. Updates are informed by user feedback from various markets and Geely intends to continue refining the vehicle through software improvements while working with customers to enhance reliability and sustainability.
