Enhanced looks and bundled convenience features are the main drawcards in the latest series of special edition Audi models.
As promised during the release of the A4 and S4 Black Edition packages at the tail end of 2023, Audi has now extended their special edition program to include the Q2, Q3, A3, and S3 model ranges as well. The S3 and Q3 only offer the “Black Edition” package, while the Q2 and A3 also offer an “Urban Edition” to fit between the normal variants and the Black Edition package. Between these two, the Urban Edition is the slightly less-extroverted offering without sporting pretences.

Audi Q2
Mechanically unchanged from the normal Q2, the Urban Edition adds a host of convenience features and larger alloy wheels to the “Advanced” trim level. Many of these items are popular stand-alone options for the mainstream models, so it makes sense to bundle them as a distinct package.
The Q2 Urban Edition receives these additional features:
- Smartphone interface package
- Panoramic sunroof
- Parking aid Plus
- Leather/artificial leather seat upholstery
- Matrix LED headlights
- Lane departure warning
- 18-inch alloy wheels (up from the standard 17s)
- Digital instrument cluster
- Comfort package, which includes seat lumbar adjustment, a powered tailgate, 2 rear USB outlets, and heated seats
On top of the Urban Edition’s specifications, the Q2 Black Edition adds 19-inch alloy wheels, black side mirrors and Audi logo, sports suspension, and a flat-bottomed steering wheel. All Audi Q2 variants feature the VW Group’s corporate 1.4-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder petrol engine, delivering 110 kW and 250 Nm to the front wheels through a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

Audi Q3 and Q3 Sportback
This is an unusual special edition, being based on the lower-level “35TFSI” variant instead of the juicier “40TFSI”. This means that the corporate 1.4-litre turbo petrol is used instead of the much more potent 2.0-litre unit, but the additional Black Edition goodies place both SUV and Sportback body styles above even the 40TFSI quattro variants in the price list. The Black Edition adds the following to the “Advanced” trim level:
- Black styling Plus package, including mirror caps
- Panoramic sunroof
- Parking aid Plus
- The Comfort and Sport packages, which include keyless entry, electrically-adjustable heated front sport seats, flat-bottom steering wheel and powered tailgate
- 19-inch alloy wheels

Audi A3 sedan and A3 Sportback
Once again, the Urban- and Black Edition versions are based on the lower-powered 35TFSI A3 models instead of the 40TFSI, even if their pricetags put the Black Edition variants at the top of the A3 pricing hierarchy. The Urban Edition receives these additions:
- Audi audio system upgrade
- Panoramic sunroof
- Auto-dimming rear-view mirror
- Dual-zone climate control
Stepping up to the Black Edition adds the blacked-out exterior treatment with S Line exterior trimmings, 18-inch alloy wheels, and a sports steering wheel.

Audi S3 sedan and S3 Sportback
Opting for the S3 Black Edition adds a host of desirable and popular features to the basic S3 spec sheet, along with black-accented exterior styling pieces. Given this list of add-ons, it makes sense to just get a Black Edition and be done with it, rather than adding these items as standalone options and paying an even greater premium. Bundled Black Edition features include:
