Big changes are on the way in the Ford Ranger stable with the 2,0-litre Bi-Turbo diesel engine being phased out in favour of the 2,3-litre EcoBoost petrol being added to both Ranger and Everest nameplates.

The 3,0-litre V6 turbo-diesel will be expanded into more derivatives alongside the 2,0-litre turbo-diesel.
The turbo-charged, direct-injection, 2,0-litre inline 4-cylinder engine, with its lightweight aluminium block and turbo-charger, delivers 222 kW of power and 452 Nm of torque and is paired with Ford's 10-speed automatic transmission.
The 2,0-litre turbo-diesel engine has been upgraded with a new timing chain for improved durability and performance, giving customers a proven, capable and affordable powertrain option. The 10-speed automatic transmission featuring an updated calibration will be offered for the first time on the XL and XLT models.
The revised lineup is expected in the first half of 2026.
